STEVE HAAS AND THE HAAS COMPANY ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCHING OF PSYCHIATRIC RECORDS AND TAPES

An important new label, Psychiatric Records, has released its first recording, The Haas Company Vol. 1, an exciting set of rock/fusion featuring Galactic Tide and guitarist Andy Timmons.

Label head Steve Haas has had overlapping careers as an entrepreneur, businessman, composer, producer, band leader, and drummer. From an early age he loved the more creative sides of rock and fusion which led him to leading his own band, founding The Haas Company, and recording albums that put the focus on major innovators.

Now with the formation of Psychiatric Records, Steve Haas has an outlet to release a series of albums featuring masterful players in inspired settings. The musicians include guitarist Andy Timmons (who is showcased on the label's debut release), violinist Jerry Goodman (a key member of the original version of the Mahavishnu Orchestra who is featured on Thirteen), Frank Gambale (guitarist with Chick Corea's Elektric Band and in the spotlight on Celestial Latitude), the Swedish jazz guitarist Samuel Hallkvist (Song For Mimi), Sean Lennon, keyboardist-composer Pete Drungle, bassists Gary Pratt (of Pink Floyd), Al McDowell, John Patitucci and Kirwan Brown, and saxophonists Jay Rodriguez and Pete Gallo among others. In addition to the initial four albums, there will be many single song releases.

The wide-ranging music released by Psychiatric Records and Tapes has several qualities in common: dazzling musicianship, versatility, outstanding songs, very original and distinctive soloists, a desire by the musicians to stretch themselves, and energetic passion.

With the release of The Haas Company Vol. 1, Psychiatric Records and Tapes is already making its mark as a label well worth watching.
