| Caroline Nadeau launches a magnificent album Forever Lasting Canadian Songs On Forever Lasting Canadian Songs, Caroline revisits in an astonishing and captivating manner ten gems of Canadian song written by artists like Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO), Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Alannah Myles, K.D. Lang, Shania Twain, Leonard Cohen and Gino Vannelli. Accents of blues, jazz, bossa nova, gospel and pop color these remarkable reinterpretations performed by seasoned musicians and shed new light on immortal pieces! The anecdote is tasty: it was the cultural director Christine Duchesne of the Pointe-Claire Cultural Center, where the performer Caroline Nadeau has performed many times, who was the spark plug for the cover album project Forever Lasting Canadian Songs, which is officially released on October 13. "She told me that she loved my album Chansons pour durer toujours, which brings together 12 classic Quebec pop songs rearranged jazz, but that her audience was more english songs, " says Caroline Nadeau. "So she wondered if I could incorporate great Canadian english songs into my repertoire for the show. In fact, I already had it in mind to choose around ten popular English songs and transform them rhythmically, harmonically, melodically, while respecting their essence. So I spoke to her about my idea, vaguely... Several months later, I received an email from Christine who asked me if my project of english Canadian songs was progressing! I was in neutral, quite honestly, and it was her enthusiasm and her insistence that gave me the energy to move forward…" Caroline confides. Caroline and her partner from Saskatchewan, singer-songwriter Gerry Gareau, spent many fun filled evenings listening to great classic English-speaking Canadian songs. She then shared a list of favorites with her arranger collaborators: Vincent Morel (who is the director and arranger of the jazz vocal ensemble Bémol 9, of which Caroline has been a part for 27 years!), Karl Surprenant (her double bassist) and John Sadowy (her pianist). Together, they made eight arrangements for the show in Pointe-Claire. Faced with the enthusiasm of the public during the concert, Caroline decided to record the songs in the studio. We are at the beginning of February 2020, we know the rest: everything is put on ice. Three years later, the album project finally sees the light of day! Finally, let's note that a launch concert is planned for October 15 at the Pointe-Claire Cultural Center… obviously!
