| Sol Roots Band performs at Flat Iron Crossroads Concert Series  Sol Roots Band brings a powerful blend of funk, jazz, blues, rock, and more to the Tidewater Virginia area on Saturday August 13. The Sol Roots band also will add a special guest, blues personality Bobby BlackHat, for their upcoming performance at Flat Iron Crossroads summer concert series.The Sol Roots band performs a blend of New Orleans influenced funk and jazz, deep blues, energetic rock, greasy soul, and hypnotic rhythms. Sol is a fierce guitarist and soulful singer who has toured around the world with many musical legends. The Sol Roots band has shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Cory Henry, Soulive, Victor Wainwright, The Wood Brothers, Popa Chubby, Roosevelt Collier, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Shemekia Copeland, New Orleans Suspects, and many more. Paying homage to the greats, and with a love of Universal Music as the guiding light, Sol steps out on a path with his own unique, powerful voice and a talented band of musicians. Sol Roots is an official Home-Grown Music Network artist and a "Next Generation" Music Maker Foundation artist. Bobby BlackHat, "Virginia's Blues Ambassador", is a favorite on the Virginia Beach area music scene and performs original, contemporary, and classic blues tunes that will keep your toes tappin', fingers poppin', and hips shakin' all night long! Bobby BlackHat has opened for music legends such as B.B King, Taj Mahal, Delbert McClinton, Ramsey Lewis, and Maze. He has also performed with Kenny Neal, Ruthie Foster, Tas Cru, Jason Ricci, Slam Allen, Lurrie Bell and more. You never know what's going to happen at a Bobby Blackhat show! Flat Iron Crossroads, is a 501(c)3 non-profit performing arts center nestled in the peaceful countryside of Tidewater Virginia, that has been bringing together musicians and diverse audiences since 2019. Flat Iron Crossroads is a beautiful and acoustically magnificent indoor and outdoor venue in Gloucester, VA, located just an hour from Richmond and Norfolk areas. The 2023 Flat Iron Crossroads musical series has also included such wonderful performing regional acts as: Ron Holloway, Jose Ramirez, Anthony Rosano, Isaac Hadden, JD Simo, Big Daddy Love, Harvey Dalton Arnold Band, Mighty Joshua and more.
