| Sol Roots performs for Gaithersburg Summer Outdoor Concerts On Thursday July 27, the Sol Roots Band performs for the City of Gaithersburg Maryland's popular summer evening concert series. The Sol Roots band performs a mix of New Orleans influenced funk, deep blues, energetic rock, greasy soul, and hypnotic rhythms. Sol is a fierce guitarist and soulful vocalist who has toured around the world with many musical legends. Sol has been a featured artist at Cognac Blues Festival (France), Festival Jazz in Mars (France), The Kennedy Center, Congressional Blues Festival, Montpelier Arts Center, Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival, MGM National Harbor outdoor concerts, Roslyn Jazz Festival and more. Paying homage to the greats, and with a love of Universal Music as the guiding light, Sol steps out on a path with a unique, powerful voice and a talented band of musicians. On Thursday July 27, the band lineup will feature some top D.C. area and Maryland musicians that have worked with Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, Chuck Berry, Albert White, Taj Mahal, Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff (of Lettuce), King Soul and more. The City of Gaithersburg invites everyone to end your day on a musical note with Evenings in Olde Towne. This free admission, family-friendly concert series is held at the City Hall Concert Pavilion. These casual, entertaining outdoor events every Thursday through June, July, and August, showcase quality regional and local music from 6:30 until 8 p.m. The City of Gaithersburg is also partnering with Saints Row Brewing to include on-site beer sales and food trucks.
