Jazz Singer Paul Hughes Releases My Lucky Stars

Singer Paul Hughes is in the midst of recording a new album of songs co-written by Nashville's Hall of Fame recipient, Byron Hill and Roger Brown. Hill has written songs for such greats as Ray Charles and Kenny Rogers, and also penned George Strait's first number one hit, Fool Hearted Memory. Brown, has a long list of recordings by artists as diverse as Barbra Streisand, Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, and several others.

Produced by Sal Oliveri, who recently co-produced PINK'S "Hurts 2B Human" album, the tracks are being recorded at legendary Capitol Records Studio in Los Angeles where the likes of Frank Sinatra and so many other greats made hit songs. Paul Hughes would now like to share 3 of these songs with you. 'My Lucky Stars, ' Then Came You' and 'I Bet You Weren't Expecting This.' Born in Manchester England, Paul Hughes is an exceptional talent who exudes style and poise.

"During my forty five professional years in this business, I've worked with many singers. It is very rare that a singer can validate a song with such ease and perfection as Paul Hughes. Songs literally come alive when Paul performs them." –Byron Hill, Nashville songwriter

I believe to be a great jazz singer you need to have an instrumental approach to the voice like Sinatra did. Paul does this with impeccable phrasing and rhythmic subtlety, which makes him a tremendously stylish storyteller!

Paul Hughes is as legit as they come. His musical sensibilities and swing are so authentic that he could have headlined alongside Sinatra's famous 'Rat-Pack'. In a genre full of lounge singers and sound-a-likes, Paul is the real-deal.

"Paul Hughes's love and enthusiasm for Swing music is a gift to the genre. As an engaging performer, he holds the torch high for future generations." / Nan Schwartz - Grammy-winning Arranger

When I first heard Paul sing, I thought, "this guy GETS it." I couldn't wait to arrange for that voice! Following in the footsteps of Sinatra and Cole, Paul can communicate a lyric like no one else on the scene today." - Cody Mcvey / Arranger
