| Saturday July 8 7:30 pm Don Braden/Karl Latham Big Fun(K) Warwick NY Village Concerts Big Fun(K) with Don Braden - Saxophone/Flute Oscar Perez - Keyboards Carlos Mena - Bass Karl Latham - Drums A Groove/Jazz/Soul Journey The Don Braden/Karl Latham co-led Jam/Jazz/Funk group, Big Fun(k), is a dream band for the group of musicians who have known each other and played in various groups together for years. Each member is well known for their individual careers as band leaders, sidemen, studio players and road men. Coming together in this collection brings out the best in each player. Don Braden A world-class saxophonist, flutist, composer and educator. Don has toured the world with jazz greats Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Tony Williams, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Haynes, Herbie Hancock and many others and has produced 23 releases as a leader. Don is also a highly regarded educator serving as the Director of the Harvard Jazz Combo Initiative, teaches part-time at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in the Netherlands, and is the Music Director of both the Litchfield Jazz Camp (since 1998) and the Texas Jazz and Blues Camp (since 2016). He has toured as "Guest Jazz Master" with the Hancock Institute. Karl Latham has performed with Grammy Award winning artists, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members and many acclaimed artists including The Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Alumni Group and Dizzy Gillespie Afro-Latin Experience with Paquito D'Rivera, Cyrus Chestnut, Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, The CD101.9 Fantasy Band, Johnny Winter, The Shirelles (Music Director), Bernie Worrell and Edgar Winter. Karl has subbed on the Broadway productions of "Bring It On", "Hamilton", "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical", and "Ain't Too Proud".
