2023 Bistro Award Winner
DARYL SHERMAN
Celebrates Her Birthday
Wed., June 14th

SETS at 7:30 and 9pm

DARYL SHERMAN, piano & vocals
WARREN VACHE, trumpet
BOOTS MALESON, bass

I've just had a great trip to Japan where I played with terrific musicians including Yoshio Toyama and his Dixie Saints.

I'm also celebrating my illustrious Bistro Award for enduring artistry that I received at a recent NYC star gala.

I'm thankful and decided to celebrate my June 14 birthday playing the fine piano at Mezzrow and singing my heart out.

Both Boots Maleson and Warren Vache have been long time friends. I don't get to play with Warren as much but he's the 'go to' when I have odd ball choices as well as jazz standards. He knows how to best frame a singer and a lyric because he truly sings through that horn of his. Annie Ross sure made use of that!

Boots, Warren and I did a lovely library concert last summer that was especially sweet, mellow, swinging - all at the same time! Hope to create that vibe for my birthday bash.

Also Boots and I (with his magnificent five strings) hope to recreate our famous tricky duo track on "A Hundred Million Miracles" from the eponymous Richard Rodgers Centennial CD.
It may take a miracle.
