Produced by Hank O'Neal, JAZZ PARTY TIME is a milestone in the swing-era trumpeter's famed jam session recordings. The tracks include "Jazz Party Time, " "Kansas City Style, " "Even Steven, " and "Bandwagon, " each exceeding 10 minutes of pure Buck Clayton Groove. A native of Parsons, Kansas, Wilbur Dorsey "Buck" Clayton (1911- 1991) is best known for his work with the Count Basie Orchestra and Billie Holiday but it's his contributions as a recording artist, sideman, arranger, bandleader, soloist, and educator that saw the master trumpeter move effortlessly from swing to be-bop and mainstream to modern jazz over a sixty-year career. In that time, he worked with greats: Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Hot Lips Page, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Coleman Hawkins, Harry James, Earl Hines, Eddie Condon and Buddy Tate.
