FYC Frank Catalano Live @ Birdland + Live Appearance Nov. 11, 12, 13

The Birdland Theater is proud to welcome Frank Catalano & his quartet back to the stage on November 11th – 13th with two sets each evening!

#1 Billboard Chart Topping, Multi-Award Winning Saxman Frank Catalano and his all-star quartet as they celebrate the release of their new album "Live At Birdland".A documentary on Frank recently premiered at the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival and he has spent the majority of 2022 Touring Europe. Frank is the only known saxman to have performed with Miles Davis, Randy Brecker, Charles Earland, Elvin Jones, Stan Getz, Betty Carter, Von Freeman, Tito Puente, Tony Bennett, Les Claypool and Louis Bellson while still in high school! This led to his signing to Delmark Records at age 18 and a string of critically acclaimed recordings. Catalano has been heard by millions of people all over the world thanks in part to 3 Grammy-winning and 11 Grammy-nominated recordings with artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Destiny's Child, and John Legend. He has also performed live on the Oprah Winfrey TV show with singer/composer Seal.

Last Month, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan performed John Coltrane's Impressions with Frank on a series of fundraisers for the victims of the July 4th Highland Park Shooting. More than a million people viewed the live stream and over $400, 000.00 was raised. Billy Corgan offered to produce Frank's next album featuring Jimmy Chamberlin in 2023.

Frank has patented a device that allows him to control his saxophone via midi components. Yamaha acquired the patent rights and in 2007 they received a Special Merit Grammy Award for Technical Achievement. Frank is a spokesperson/clinician/performing artist for companies such as Yamaha, Rico/D'Addario, and JodyJazz.

Combining his love for classic cocktails, Frank Catalano is also the Celebrity Endorser for Drambuie Scotch Liqueur and has inspired the Catalano Sidecar proudly served at Birdland.
