The Acoustic Lounge gives emerging songwriters an opportunity to showcase new music in an intimate setting, while interacting with fans and industry VIPs. Attendees can consider the showcase as a place of musical discovery where they can hear songwriters reveal the stories behind the music. WHO: The evening will feature performances by Dani Stocksdale and Stella Smyth. This event is 21+ and free to attend. WHEN: Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. WHERE: Rockwood Music Hall Stage One 196 Allen Street New York, NY 10002 ABOUT THE PERFORMERS: Dani Stocksdale Dani Stocksdale is a New York based artist who uses honest storytelling and melodies as a vehicle to connect with others. Her vocal delivery is smooth, sultry and breathy, which fits comfortably with the alternative pop feel of her performances. She has performed at venues such as Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, The Cutting Room, and Arlene's Grocery. Her music provides a glimpse into her mind: messy, anxious, and hopeful. Most recently, Dani was selected amongst her class at the Clive Davis Institute to work with Black Diamond's Katie Vinten. With Vinten's guidance, Dani worked with songwriters in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville, expanding both her network and catalogue. Stella Smyth Stella Smyth is a 21-year-old artist based out of Los Angeles and New York. As both a producer and singer-songwriter, she unconventionally blurs the lines between songwriting and production to create an innovative sonic universe. Smyth spent their earlier years toplining for EDM artists such as Kaivon and Danny Olson before fully emerging with left-of-center electropop influenced by pioneers Caroline Polachek, Charli XCX and Rina Sawayama. Dedicated to empowering female/non-binary producers, Smyth also co-founded the organization Producers Against Misogyny with producer and singer-songwriter Lily Amiclo to create safe spaces in the studio and beyond.
