Fight On: Songs of Freedom and Protest

In a time of dislocation and uncertainty, four friends join forces to present songs drawn from the American folk tradition of speaking out for unity, freedom and peace.

In a long tradition of singing for justice and peace, four musician friends draw on songs from America's deep-rooted folk protest movements that included Pete Seeger, Earl Robinson, Leadbelly and many others. Come sing along with these distinguished singer/multi-instrumentalists, who will gather to perform in the West Yard.

Hubby Jenkins, of The Carolina Chocolate Drops and Rhiannon Giddens band, is a Grammy Award nominated multi-instrumentalist. Joy Jan Jones, a performer, writer and teacher, sings with Opera on Tap, Oratorio Society of New York, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Songwriter/Actress Allison Kelly plays a variety of instruments and performs in Ring of Fire, Almost Heaven, and many other theater shows, on television and in commercials. Andy Teirstein is an award-winning composer, writer and performer on and off-Broadway, and a professor at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
