| The Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra Sunday, October 16 at Birdland Jazz Club, NYC One set: 5:30 pm Join us at Birdland for the Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra led by multi-Grammy nominated arranged and jazz vocalist, Pete McGuinness! Returning for his third appearance on the Birdland stage is The Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra, led by multi-GRAMMY nominated big band arranger and award-winning jazz vocalist Pete McGuinness. Since its start in 2006, the band has featured Pete's unique and engaging takes on well-worn American popular standards and jazz classics, as well as original music from Pete's own pen and arrangements for his jazz vocal work. Members of the band, all top/well-seasoned NYC jazz musicians, have collectively played with many of the renowned big bands, including those led by Maria Schneider, Woody Herman, John Fedchock, Lionel Hampton, Toshiko Akiyoshi and Jimmy Heath. The band's latest and third CD "Along For The Ride" was released in 2019 on Summit Records to rave reviews ("4-Stars" – Downbeat Magazine) and much nation-wide radio play. Pete is Professor of Jazz Arranging at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ.
