LOU POMANTI RELEASES "AMARTE DUELE" FEAT. IRENE TORRES & BILL MCBIRNIE

On Friday May 13, 2022, multi award-winning Canadian musician Lou Pomanti releases his final single from the upcoming album Lou Pomanti & Friends, "Amarte Duele" distributed by Vesuvius Music / IDLA.

Originally from the soundtrack of the Mexican film "Amar te duele, " which translates to "loving you hurts." Composed by Natalia Lafourcade, this tender Bossanova features Irene Torres, singing the Spanish lyric with a delicate passion. Pomanti gives this favourite of hers a lush arrangement with a solo by illustrious flautist Bill McBirnie.

"When I heard Irene sing "Amarte Duele" at a live show I fell in love with the song and Irene's singing and we had a great time recording this."

Peruvian-born singer and visual artist Irene Torres has been active on Toronto's music scene for more than a decade. A frontwoman for many groups, she has appeared with the Flamenco fusion ensemble Santerias, the Afro Cuban band Battle of Santiago, The Tiki Collective, the original blues and soul supergroup Irene Torres & The SugarDevils, or Latin House project Sol Azul.

Irene is a soulful, precise and passionate performer who is heavily influenced by her culture and heritage.

2022 will see Irene's first solo album, featuring the folkloric instrumentation of Peru and the raw storytelling of her original lyrics. Sign up to Irene's mailing list to hear more from her soon.

Arranged, produced, recorded and mixed by Pomanti the full album features many of his illustrious collaborators; a stellar back-up band, phenomenal featured soloists and a "who's who" of vocalists performing ballads to big band, bossanova to blues, with plenty of soul.
