92Y Announces Jazz in July 2022

The 92nd Street Y announces Jazz in July 2022, the 37th season of New York City's quintessential summer jazz festival. Jazz in July brings together the world's greatest jazz musicians in never-before artistic combinations under the artistic direction of Grammy Award-winning pianist Bill Charlap, for live performances on 92Y's renowned stage. This year's festival will run over four nights between Tuesday, July 21 and Thursday, July 28. Concerts on July 21, 26 and 28 will be online and available on demand for 72 hours from the time of broadcast.

Joshua Redman makes his debut on the 92Y stage to open Jazz in July, joining the Bill Charlap Trio in their first performance together. Kenny Barron and Aaron Diehl team up with Bill Charlap for a generation-spanning piano-focused concert.

Headliners Joe Lovano and Warren Wolf open Jazz in July's second week with special guest Samara Joy, and unparalleled guitarist Mike Stern closes the festival with another Jazz in July debut performance, teamed with saxophonists Chris Potter and Nicole Glover.

"Jazz in July celebrates the spark of improvisation and the alchemy that happens when these major artists play together in this acoustically perfect hall, " says Bill Charlap. "Every night features unique, once-in-a-lifetime combinations of world-class jazz artists plus four of the greatest bass and drum teams on the planet."
