BABUL MORA Video Pratibha Singh Baghel Going Viral

The official music video for Pratibha Singh Baghel's beautifully re-imagined BABUL MORA premiered on February 8th through the music media platform + record label, Sufiscore. Already over 450, 000 views and climbing rapidly in its first few hours of release,

BABUL MORA is one of the new songs from Pratibha Singh Baghel's Valentine's Day album, INHERITANCE, a collection of romantic Indian poems known as 'thumris.'

'Thumris' are a unique Indian genre of semi-classical music, that focuses on emotion, love and romance.

BABUL MORA was written by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah after he was exiled by the British Raj in 1954 due to his secular love for the arts and this thumri was written as a lament where he uses the metaphor of a bride's farewell from her father's home, and his own banishment from his beloved Lucknow, to far away Calcutta, where he spent the rest of his years.

BABUL MORA is one of the songs on the new album INHERITANCE.

INHERITANCE was composed and produced by Deepak Pandit, co-produced by Gaurav Vaswani and features Prashant Sonagra on tabla, the string tapestries of Tapas Roy as well as Deepak Pandit on violin, the instrument for which he is renowned. Deepak crafted large-scale orchestrations and sent them to the master musicians of the Budapest Symphony Orchestra taking the music of INHERITANCE into a much bigger sonic space.

INHERITANCE was recorded and mixed at Seven Heaven Studios in Mumbai and mastered at London's Abbey Road.

Pratibha Singh Baghel is comfortably conquering social media with and delighting blossoming audiences on YouTube and Instagram channels.

Pratibha Singh Baghel has performed in over 30 countries, gaining a worldly view as she says,
