Tim Lyre, Prettyboy D-O and Lady Donli flex on the nostalgic 'Highlife'

Afro-fusion act Tim Lyre shares 'Highlife', a groovy mid-tempo track that sets the mood for waist-whining fests and celebrations, and the second single off his forthcoming debut album Worry < ('worry less').

Over production that draws influences from Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, 'Highlife' features Nigerian alternative music forerunners Prettyboy D-O and Lady Donli, echoing sentiments of their ruthless hustling spirit backed by a call for youths to secure the bag. An instant earworm.

Speaking on the record, Tim says:

"Highlife is a celebration song. As people we constantly strive for our goals but every now and then, we deserve to celebrate and be celebrated. This song is the soundtrack for all those celebrations. Got the perfect voices for the message too in PrettyboyDO and Lady Donli. This one is epic."

'Highlife' comes after a successful release of 'Real' which received massive support across Africa and in the UK, followed by a shuffling US house remix by South African house DJ Oscar Mbo, the two-time nominee for Best Dance Album at the South African Music Awards.

Tim Lyre has been an integral part of the alté renaissance, consistently churning out top tier alternative Afro-influenced music and racking up millions of streams across digital platforms.
