Live From Our Living Rooms Presents 55 Bar Running November 18 through December 9, 2021

Featuring Eric Harland, Big Yuki, Taylor Eigsti and Alexa Tarantino Quartet

All ticket sales, donations and online revenue will go towards supporting the 55 Bar, the participating artists, and will help LFOLR continue its future charitable programs supporting US based musicians.

Last year, musicians witnessed major career blocks due to live-performance restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The April 2020 launch of the Live From Our Living Rooms fundraising initiative, founded by musicians Sirintip, Thana Alexa and Owen Broder, helped fill the gap for struggling musicians and music lovers alike by providing paid performance and teaching opportunities to professional artists – from which a portion of revenue was used to fund grant opportunities open to US-based musicians – and brought the joy of world class music from artists' homes to viewers anywhere in the world via live-streaming and virtual replays. Over the course of three series in 2020, LFOLR was able to present nearly 200 artists, raise over $140k, and facilitate grants to over 80 musicians in need (not including grants issued by DC Jazz Festival during their partnership series).

Live From Our Living Rooms – newly operating as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization – is proud to announce a brand new series extending the virtual setting to include live venues, beginning with the legendary New York City jazz club, 55 Bar. "We're truly honored to have Scott Ellard and the 55 Bar to be our first partner on this journey. 55 Bar is a legendary jazz club and New York would not be the same without it, " says founder Sirintip.

Broadcasts of performances and masterclasses filmed at the 55 Bar will run from November 18 to December 9. "This establishment is a cultural Mecca that has given each one of our founders a place to develop our craft as artists, " founder Thana Alexa says. "With this new series, our plan is to document the power that music and education can have in both live and virtual settings, further opening the worldwide access to our international audiences and continuing to help the musicians involved."

Nearly two years into the pandemic, streaming and remote options remain prevalent in everyday life. While live tours and performances are only just beginning to scratch the surface of normalcy again, this new LFOLR series will continue to help connect people all around the world with jazz music and the artists within the genre that inspire them.

The "LFOLR Presents" broadcasts will include masterclasses and live performances, all accessible over 2 week replay periods. Drummer Eric Harland, keyboardist BIGYUKI and pianist Taylor Eigsti will open the series on Thursday, November 18. On Thursday, December 2, the Alexa Tarantino Quartet will also host a performance. Viewers will have the opportunity to donate online to help continue LFOLR's mission to raise funds for charitable projects aimed at supporting US based musicians through grants, commissioned works and future broadcast projects.
