The group will be presenting selections from classic "late-60's" Miles albums including "Filles De Kilimanjaro", "Water Babies", "Miles in India", "Miles in the Sky", "Bitches Brew" and "In A Silent Way". Also featured will be the Grammy-winning saxophonist Ted Nash (LCJO w/Wynton Marsalis) and Chris' son Theo Rogers on guitar. Rounding out this great group will be Jon Ballantyne, Dan Asher, and Tony Lewis. Chris Rogers is the son of the legendary Salsa & NYC studio & jazz trombonist Barry Rogers (also an original member of the seminal jazz-rock band DREAMS with the Brecker Brothers), and as a young trumpeter was mentored by the likes of family friends such as Randy Brecker, Lew Soloff, Mike Lawrence, Tom Harrell and John D'earth - trumpet greats who's styles can be traced back to the incredible influence of Miles Davis. Chris is personally thrilled to be playing this hand-picked special set of music! Chris' most recent album release "Voyage Home" (2017) features previously unreleased performances by the great Michael Brecker and is available from Art of Life Records. Since then, Chris has been ubiquitous in the NYC area, performing and/or recording with groups such as the Mingus Big Band; The Tom Malone Jazz Sextet; The Lisa Maxwell Jazz Orchestra; Funk Shui NYC: The Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra; Gene Perla's Good & Plenty Jazz Sextet; The Royal Scam; and the Dean Brown "Summer of Love Evolution". Chris' brand new album of original compositions features Bruce Barth, Jay Anderson and Steve Johns, and is planned for release in 2022!
