That these four lads live and breathe indie rock is now also certain. The Bruxelles-based band is the latest newcomer to the big "Belpop" family, and has that elusive but spicy ingredient in common with other Belgian bands like Balthazar, Absynthe Minded and Girls in Hawaii. "West Coast" is the second single taken from "Walk Swim Fly", their upcoming debut EP. Anyone who has ever thought of escaping the bustle of big cities by finding exile under the sun and by living to the rhythm of the coming and going of the waves will easily understand the appeal of "West Coast". With a video clip that stages the journey of the Colver's singer through several dreamlike scenes, director Maxence Gonzalez says he "wanted to exploit the concept of letting go of the barriers that stand in front of us throughout our lives". As a matter of fact, the clip of "West Coast" constitutes a sinuous tragicomic journey, between juvenile memories on the one hand, and material and human hold on the other hand. write your comments about the article :: © 2021 Jazz News :: home page |
