| AUG. 15- Vocalist NICOLE HENRY Launches Livestream Concert Series One of the Jazz World's Most Acclaimed Vocalists, Nicole Henry, is the first performance in Music At Home: Live From Arts Garage, a livestream virtual concert series for homebound entertainment fans missing that unique live concert experience. Nicole Henry is set to hit the stage August 15th, 2020 at 7pm EDT with the contagious energy of a truly live performance. Henry has performed at Arts Garage since 2013, returning for eight engagements, often for two nights. Through song, she always brings warmth and a sense of hope to the stage with a blend of Songbook, soul, blues, originals and of course, her beloved jazz. According to Marjorie Waldo, President & CEO of Arts Garage, "Music At Home: Live from Arts Garage gives music lovers the best of both worlds—they can watch the concert from the comfort of home while interacting live and in real time with multi-talented performers. The audience can comment during the concert, and we'll make sure the performers know what is being said; they might even respond live. It's as close to being at a live convert as possible under the current pandemic difficulties. Best of all, one person buys a ticket and a whole room full of friends/family can watch for free." Ms. Henry's passionate, soulful voice and heartfelt charisma have earned her a Soul Train Award for "Best Traditional Jazz Performance, " and three Top 10 U.S. Billboard and HMV Japan jazz albums. She has also been heralded by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Japan Times, El Pais, Jazz Times, Essence and more. "This new series, like From Our HeARTs before it, is our response to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic that has caused many businesses and arts institutions to temporarily close their doors, including Arts Garage, " Waldo adds. "But we refuse to let this virus stop the truly transformative power of music and art from giving us joy and hope, and help to heal all that is broken. If ever there has been a time for healing, it's right now. The series will also feature top International and regional artists including Nestor Torres, Joel Zoss, Matt Brown, Ariella and more.
