| Jazz In Europe Summer 2020 Magazine Now Available. The Summer 2020 edition of the Jazz In Europe Magazine is now available. This, our eighth edition, marks a milestone for us here at Jazz In Europe. It was exactly two years ago today that we launched our first edition of the Jazz In Europe print magazine in the summer of 2018. We want to thank all those who have contributed to the magazine over the last two years, our writers, photographers and not to forget the artists we have interviewed. However, most of all we want to thank you, our readers, for supporting us. When we first launched they said "print is dead" well we've proved them wrong. Print is well and truly alive! In this edition, I had the pleasure of interviewing vocalist Kurt Elling. Kurt speaks about his background in Chicago, his latest album with Danilo Pérez and touches on a great deal more along the way. We also have extensive interviews with, British vocalists Norma Winstone and Ruby Turner, Both recipients of an MBE for their contribution to the Arts in the UK. Darrell Craig Harris caught up with Ambrose Akinmusire on the eve of his latest Blue Note release. Simone Gubbiotti spoke with bassist Steve Swallow and Peter Jones talks with pianist Christian Sands about his latest album just released on Mack Avenue Records. Nigel spoke with the painter Sharon Matishoff about her portrait work capturing a series of Jazz Icons. In this editions Vinyl Corner, Jan Fritz takes a look at two new releases featuring re-discovered recordings from Thelonious Monk and our photo feature "Behind the Lens" focuses on the work of the Polish photographer Kasia Idzkowska, winner of the World Jazz Photo Competition 2020.
