| MCG Jazz Spotlight Show and Archives Series: Chuck Mangione Interview 1996 MCG Jazz has partnered with the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel, WZUM to produce The MCG Jazz Spotlight Show, a one-hour show that broadcasts weekly featuring MCG Jazz executive producer, Marty Ashby and guest hosts discussing jazz music, the influence of Pittsburgh-born jazz musicians' contribution to the genre of jazz and playing some fun, inspiring songs. This week the MCG JAZZ Spotlight Show dives into the extensive MCG Jazz Archives to showcase an interview with Chuck Mangione recorded at the MCG Jazz music hall in 1996. Learn about Chuck's history growing up in Central New York, his time with Art Blakey and how Chuck approaches his compositions. The program will feature music from some of his timeless recordings including Land of Make Believe and Fun & Games as well as his performance with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers from the Live at the Lighthouse record. The original interview was conducted by WZUM's Tony Mowod and the Spotlight Show is hosted by the Executive Producer at MCG Jazz, Marty Ashby. The MCG Jazz Spotlight show airs on Friday and Sunday at 6pm and Saturday at 1pm on The Pittsburgh Jazz Channel WZUM.
