Saint Peter's Church: Friday at Four on Facebook Terell Stafford

Dear friends,

I have TWO special broadcasts to announce this week. For our Friday at Four on Facebook broadcast, we have a great Jazz Vespers from September 2019 featuring jazz trumpet virtuoso Terell Stafford. He's backed by Ike Sturm(bass) and Chris Dingman (vibraphone), and is joined by two wonderful singers, Melissa Stylianou and Misty Ann Sturm. Don't miss it! Just pop over to our Facebook page at 4pm, Friday, May 1. The program runs 1 hour.

And the other broadcast is TOMORROW, Thursday, April 30 at 1:00 pm at Dr. Bálint Karosi's YouTube Channel. Bálint is the cantor at Saint Peter's, but he's also an internationally celebrated organist and composer. This broadcast features his one-act opera, "Lonely Hearts."

Bálint writes: "My one-act opera "Lonely Hearts" explores love, illusion, dreams and deception in a surreal, but all-too-familiar world, from the perspectives of both women and men." Libretto, based on a true story by Almási András-Tóth.

Hear about the story this opera is based on in this podcast from NPR.
