The tune "Love and Kisses" was originally written and performed by the 1950's teenage rockabilly phenom Janis Martin who released this sassy ditty in late 1956. Susie is joined in a Blondie-inspired, all-girl vocal harmony by jazz vocalist Jen Zias. They lull you with an angelic Deborah Harry-esqe harmony that will take you back to Blondie's early days when she created smooth sounds for retro tunes like "In the Flesh". Susie and Jen sing in duet, accompanied by Lonesome Fella saxophonist Eric Schneider who is a weekend regular at Chicago's Green Mill, and guitarist Neal Alger, the band's musical director. Chris Bernhardt rocks the bass with just the right bit of JazzBilly and Swing drummer Phil Gratteau keeps the tempo going, as if you were being chivied through a field of daisies by Cupid himself.
