Bassist Reggie Washington in BELGIUM, GERMANY and FRANCE from 3 to 10 November 2019

Reggie Washington remains the favorite bassist of many great musicians such as Roy Hargrove, Steve Coleman, Cassandra Wilson, Meshell Ndegeocello, Branford Marsalis, Chico Hamilton, Uri Caine, Archie Shepp, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Don Byron, Oliver Lake, The Headhunters, Jason Miles, Robin Mc Kelle, Benito Gonzalez, Grégory Privat, Paul Jost and gospel diva Liz McComb .

Reggie Washington has been trying for years to get involved in a project where, as a leader, he would play mostly acoustic bass. As Reggie says: "I have TWO bass personalities. My electric and acoustic sides. They are different in how I express myself on each but both sides play in support of the music."

Reggie rediscovers with happiness the overtones, vibrations, nuances and hum of the four strings of his acoustic bass in the album "Vintage New Acoustic".

When requested to underline what's important about "Vintage New Acoustic", Reggie answers:
"To continue to be FREE in my music and to express myself with creative musicians! I want my quartet to have fun, so that the audience hears the sound that happiness produces."

REGGIE SHARES THIS VENTURE WITH 3 EXCEPTIONAL MUSICIANS :

He is considered to be one of the best soprano and tenor sax players in Europe but is also known for his talents on the clarinet and as an inspired composer, melody writer and surprising scat singer.
E.J. Strickland is a world-class drummer, composer and artist heard on over 60 albums in the last 10 years. He quickly graduated into New York's gigging jazz scene, playing with the greatest names in contemporary music. He has long stints with Ravi Coltrane, Russell Malone, Marcus Strickland, Manuel Valera and also had opportunities to work on occasion with artists like Wynton Marsalis, Cassandra Wilson, Herbie Hancock, Christian Sands, Brandee Younger and many others. These days, E.J. finds himself writing music more than anything else and focusing on being a bandleader and a musician, creating great vehicles for his band to play on.
