PHEEROAN AKLAFF is a Detroit born drum set doyen known for his work with Wadada Leo Smith, Oliver Lake, David Murray, Henry Threadgill, Air, Cecil Taylor, Amiri Baraka, Dewey Redman, Sonny Sharrock, Julius Hemphill, Anthony Davis, Jay Hoggard, Reggie Workman, Amina Claudine Myers, Ray Anderson, Craig Harris, and more.

ANDREW DRURY is a drummer/composer who has performed in 30 countries and on 70 recordings as a bandleader and with Jason Kao Hwang, Ku-umba Frank Lacy, JD Parran, Myra Melford, Mark Dresser, Roswell Rudd, Jack Wright, and others. He directs Continuum Culture & Arts and has hosted over 125 Soup & Sounds since 2009.
ED BLACKWELL (1929-92) is regarded as one of the greatest jazz drummers. He worked with Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, the Eric Dolphy/Booker Little Quintet, John Coltrane, Randy Weston, Mal Waldron, David Murray, Old and New Dreams, Nu, Woody Shaw, Pharoah Sanders, Anthony Braxton, and many more.
