| The Multi-Talented Guitarist Pablo Embon Debuts A Dozen Originals That Cover A Variety Of Creative Styles And Moods On His New CD "Reminiscent Moods" Equally talented on keyboards, guitar and bass, Embon creates attractive ensembles and grooves on Reminiscent Moods that set the stage for colorful and inventive solos. A superior guitarist and keyboardist, Pablo Embon is a troubadour for the 21st century, a musician who not only writes his own music but plays all of the parts on his recording projects. Never sounding like a one-man band, Embon creates ensembles that feature interplay between his guitar, piano, electric keyboards, bass and percussion. Reminiscent Moods is filled with warm themes and melodic playing that blend together modern jazz, folk music, fusion and pop into a personal sound that is very much Pablo Embon's. Featured on the set are a dozen new compositions. "All Stars Above" starts with a soothing melody and includes subtle creativity from the piano and electric keyboards before the electric guitar takes over the lead. Most of the other performances also have spots for both the guitar and the keyboards including the harmonically advanced "Getaway" (a piece that makes one feel that they are on the go), the ensemble-oriented ballad "Never Say Goodbye, " "Two Minutes Of Joy" which has a happy groove, the busy and catchy "Non Stop" and "Wild Wild East" which features a lively party atmosphere. Embon's piano is in the forefront on "Rainy Day" and "Since You've Been Gone, " achieving a hornlike sound on "Out Of Tears." On guitar he sometimes hints at Pat Metheny while in some other spots he emphasizes an acoustic sound. Throughout Reminiscent Moods, Pablo Embon succeeds at creating infectious and accessible music that is always uplifting. Born and raised in Argentina, he started on piano and guitar when he was seven, worked in a variety of bands, and developed his own style. Pablo Embon not only developed his own musical personality on keyboards, piano, guitar and bass but became a composer, an orchestrator, and a record producer who mastered all of the aspects that go into making solo recordings with multiple instruments. Since that time, Pablo Embon has settled in Israel (where Reminiscent Moods was recorded), gained a great deal of musical experience, and composed, performed, mixed, and produced 18 albums, doing everything himself. His sets have ranged from fusion, smooth and modern jazz to classically-oriented solo piano and orchestral projects, often mixing several genres together to create fresh new music. Reminiscent Moods serves the dual purpose of being his latest accomplishment and a perfect introduction for a wide audience to the unique and highly appealing music of Pablo Embon. write your comments about the article :: © 2019 Jazz News :: home page |
