| Glen Boldman and the Philadelphia 5 - Jazz for the next gen Ben Goldman is a dynamic and versatile percussionist and music educator. In 2017, Ben was a guest artist and teacher at the Tefen Music Festival in Israel, where Ben performed with the Faculty Jazz combo and led steel drum masterclasses. When not performing as an associate artist with the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, Ben maintains an active and diverse performance schedule in Philadelphia playing drumset, timpani, and steel drums. As an educator, Ben has built a studio of 30 private students and is the instructor of percussion and drumset at Cecil College in Maryland. Ben holds an MM from University of Delaware and a BFA in multi-focus percussion performance from California Institute of the Arts. Glen Boldman & The Philadelphia 5 is a fresh take on Jazz. Groove oriented and unique, each song draws from various world music traditions. From the Hindustani inspired "The Slizzard" to the melancholic chromaticism of "December 2017" the listener will be guided through four moments and moods that have shaped Ben's musical experience.
