| Kevin Quinn, Paramedic - Immediate Release Born and raised in New York, Kevin Quinn began his musical studies on guitar when he was 18 years old. While attending the State University of New York at New Paltz, Kevin began to take an interest in jazz. He pursued a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies studying with Mark Dziuba, Vinnie Martucci, John Menegon, and Jeff "Siege" Siegel. After graduating, he started his career as a sound engineer at the ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn, NY, where he studies with bass virtuoso Matthew Garrison. Working at the ShapeShifter has allowed Kevin to meet and play with many musicians such as Aaron Parks, David Savitsky, Rachel Therrien, Dean Sharp, Sean Wayland, Andrew Atkinson, Mark Ferber, Ira Coleman, and many more. Continuing his journey, he has played at ShapeShifter Lab, Shrine, Highline Ballroom, Muchmore's, Silvana, Wiliamsburg Music Center, Tomi Jazz, Pianos, Garment District Art Festival, and a myriad of bars and restaurants. Quinn draws inspiration from Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, John Scofield, Bill Frisell and Pat Martino. I also draw a lot inspiration and style from my guitar teacher from SUNY New Paltz, Mark Dziuba (He's also on the record), his quirky but melodic style of playing is unlike anything else i've ever heard. The songs on the record are half mine (Paramedic, Final Fantasy and Morgan's Nocturne) and half Dziuba's (Martian Sausage, Telly Sevalas, and Your Changes). Each song was written for someone special, like Paramedic was written for my father, Final Fantasy for my brother and Morgan's Nocturne for my girlfriend. His debut album Paramedic features Quinn on guitar, Mark Dziuba on guitar, Dave Savitsky on alto sax, Ira Coleman on bass and Jeff "Siege" Siegel on drums. Recorded at Upland Studios by John Menegon and Mixed and Mastered by Marian Gomez Villota. TRACKS: 1. Final Fantasy 4:51 2. Your Changes 5:38 3. Telly Savalas 7:58 4. Morgan's Nocturne 6:00 5.
