| Award-winning Vocalist Kathy Kosins Joins Line-up on Entertainment Cruise Productions: Blue Note at Sea Entertainment Cruise Productions is proud to announce the addition of ASCAP award-winning vocalist Kathy Kosins to their 2019 Blue Note at Sea line-up. Kosins, who has won the hearts of critics and fans around the globe with her eclectic musical palette that expands the rich history of jazz and soul, will step on board this 7-day trip, on January 26th and will cruise through locations including Nassau, The Bahamas, Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, and Key West, Florida. The accomplished vocalist is also thrilled to join Cecile McLorin Salvant and Jose James for a very special "Singer's Rap" Q&A, hosted by SiriusXM - Real Jazz Program Director Mark Ruffin. The line-up on this cruise is a joint effort of Blue Note president Don Was and Blue Note Jazz Clubs president Steven Bensusan. Joining Kosins on the bill is Marcus Miller, Robert Glasper, David Sanborn, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Logan Richardson, Luques Curtis, Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Elling, José James, Christian Scott, Terence Blanchard, Jason Moran, Kandace Springs, Wycliffe Gordon, Eric Marienthal, Ben Williams, Taylor McFerrin, Terrace Martin, Derrick Hodge, Geoffrey Keezer, and many more! There will be various venues of different size, with main shows played twice nightly in the ship's largest venue. Since releasing her sixth album Uncovered Soul to international acclaim this past February - check out the garnered attention from BBC Radio London, Soul Tracks, All About Jazz, Jazz Journal, amongst others - she has released several tracks from the album in different mixes plus a couple of tunes excluded on the album, such as a remake of the Donald Byrd classic "Fancy Free" from the trumpeter's 1969 Blue Note album of the same name. The tune features singer Daymé Arocena, flutist Hubert Laws, and lyrics from Paul Randolph. Born and raised during the legendary Motown years in Detroit, Kathy Kosins' soulful voice, flawless phrasing and deep-rooted passion for stories and characters has been wowing audiences since she first came to prominence in the late 1980's, coincidently as a background singer for, as aforementioned, current Blue Note president Don Was and Was/Not Was. Kosins' contributions to the contemporary music scene cannot be overstated. In 1996, Kosins collaborated with both LA and New York based writers and composed a collection of jazz tunes, with the intent of selling them to already recognized jazz artists such as Dianne Reeves, Nancy Wilson and Diane Schuur. However, Michigan-based indie label Schoolkids Records discovered this repertoire, and, impressed and mesmerized by Kosins' soulful voice urged her to record and release the material under her own name. It was then that Kosins' prolific jazz career began to take shape. In 1996, Kosins debut, "All In A Dreams Work" was released and placed in the top 20 in the Gavin Report.
