| Susie Blue And The Lonesome Fellas Release A New Single "Happy New Year Baby" Just In Time For New Years Eve This flirtatious classic is a Blues/Jazzy take on a Pop song from the late 1950's featuring a lush and swinging vocal by Solitaire Miles, and lively solos by guitarist Neal Alger and saxophonist Eric Schneider. Miles and Alger are renown for unearthing long-lost songs, rescuing and refining bygone gems from songwriters like Cindy Walker or Hoagy Carmichael. This forgotten nugget was written by Neil Sedaka and originally released in 1958 by Popcorn vocalist JoAnn Campbell. Alger updates the song for 2018 with a new arrangement, blending Miles' smooth Patsy Cline-style vocals with a Blues rhythm which puts the tune somewhere in between Jazz and Rockabilly. It's a delightful ballad crossing over many genres - great for anybody who wants a lavish, flirty and fun way to ring in the New Year. - JM Reid, Chicago Music Guide The band has released another single this past month, a Xmas favorite "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me". You can download the tunes at at CD Baby, itunes, Amazon or at their Bandcamp Page. write your comments about the article :: © 2018 Jazz News :: home page |
