| Arturo O'Farrill's “Rhythms of Life” Indiegogo Campaign Dear music lover, colleague, friend, and/or family (or all of the above!), I'm writing to let you know about an Indiegogo campaign that we've just launched for a new TV pilot called "Rhythms of Life with Arturo O'Farrill." Most of the important things in life — culture, family, work, love and politics — are shared through music. It's the universal language. Arturo uses music as a window into the lives of people around the world. Arturo is a six-time Grammy Award winner as well as a warm, enthusiastic performer with an abundant mix of curiosity, scholarship, and talent. He has performed all over the globe teaching and learning at every location. Arturo is a natural for TV, and the pilot episode for this program will bring that home. In divisive times, it is important to focus on what brings us together. Music is a language that emanates from the soul and is expressed through culture. Think along the lines of Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown, " featuring local musicians in domestic and foreign locations. Please check it out here, and if you're interested in helping the project come to life, make a contribution — any amount is welcome, of course — and there are some perks involved, too. We have a cinematographer and production company in place to shoot this pilot in February of 2019 while Arturo and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra will be in residence at NYU Abu Dhabi. The residency will include a mambo concert, master classes, and a final concert featuring several Middle Eastern musicians and ensembles as well as the ALJO Big Band. Please see our Indiegogo site to get the big picture and help us to create an even bigger picture for TV audiences in the US and around the world.
