A native of Londrina, Brazil, Téka mastered the traditions of Brazilian music at an early age. Along the way, she became equally entranced by American jazz. After graduating in Music Education from Sao Paulo University, Téka studied at Boston's Berklee College and Longy School of Music. Téka has performed with Brazilian and American legends such as Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira and Roger Kellaway. She has appeared as the contralto soloist with numerous chorales and has been featured as soloist with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, The San Luis Obispo Symphony Orchestra, and The Glendale Pops Orchestra as well as many national and International Jazz Festivals. Her recordings as a leader, Garden Planet and Watercolors of Brazil have received high praise from critics and audiences. Her latest release, "So Many Stars, " is a definitive statement that she is a mature and world-class musical artist. Téka brings everything into a unified expression, combining her vocal lines and rhythmic guitar accompaniments into a single, elegantly buoyant musical blend. Helio Alves – piano A Berklee College graduated, native of Brazil and New York based, pianist, Helio Alves has received high praise as an in-demand sideman with Joe Henderson, Yo-Yo Ma, Claudio Roditi, Paquito D'Rivera, Gato Barbieri, Dave Samuels, Rosa Passos, Chico Pinheiro, Romero Lubambo, Joyce Moreno, Airto Moreira & Flora Purim, Oscar Castro-Neves, to name a few. Tiago Michelin – drums A Berklee College graduated of music with Bachelor's in Performance in 2015, native of Brazil, and New York based, drummer Tiago Michelin has performed and recorded with many internationally critically acclaimed musicians, notably Esperanza Spalding, Eliane Elias, Marc Johnson, Kenny Werner, Leo Blanco, Guillermo Klein, Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, Danilo Perez, among many others. Ebinho Cardoso – bass Brazilian bassist, composer, arranger, singer and researcher Ebinho Cardoso is considered one of the most promising newcomers in the bass world today. A virtuoso on his instrument he is one of the most respected Brazilian bassists of the new generation.
