Badi Assad Appearing @ Joe's Pub Tuesday, July 31st 7pm

Brazil's Badi Assad is one of the most innovative, passionate and talented artists of all times and is lauded as one of the world's most unique and cross-transcendental performance artists of this generation.Quicksilver guitar work and vocal percussion along with sweet and stirring singing are Badi's trademarks.

Badi cracks open the unexpectedly lyrical quality and deep sentiments of the popular songs that Badi always chooses to explore, arrange, and make her own.

Assad will give New York's audience a chance to experience these songs (by Hozier, Skrillex, Björk and more), that comes from her latest release 'Hatched', and as well as her own compositions, LIVE, when she comes as a solo performer to Joe's Pub on July 31st @ 7pm, as part of the Brazil Summerfest.

One of Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitarists and the winner of the 2013 USA Songwriting Competition in the World category, Assad has enjoyed over 25 years on the world stage, acclaimed as one of the finest Brazilian guitarists of her generation. She regularly works in film, music, and dance with inexhaustible versatility. The younger sister of legendary classical guitarists Duo Assad, Badi has forged her own path forward, with over a dozen albums and numerous tours worldwide.

Badi transcends traditional styles of her native Brazilian music with a mixture of pop, jazz and world/ethnic sounds from around the world. As a result, the extraordinary singer, guitarist, and percussionist is successfully forging an exhilarating genre of music that quite literally defies categorization.
