| The 7 Virtual Jazz Club announces the winners of the 2017 Edition of the contest The 7 Virtual Jazz Club is proud to announce the winners of the 2017 edition of the contest. The international jury, made of jazz experts, composed their ranks. The jury prize (€ 2, 000 plus artistic advertising) has been assigned to the american guitar player Gilad Hekselman with his GHex trio (Rick Rosato on double bass and Jonathan Pinson on drums), which presented the song Ghex clap clap. About Gilad Hekselman: "...a brilliant guitar player accompanied by great musicians swaying with him between jazz and latin rhythms in an excellent original composition" - Dubi Lenz from Israel (journalist, broadcaster, art director "The Red Sea Jazz Festival", judge of the 7 Virtual Jazz Club). "Wonderful guitar playin g with a unique compositional voice and a great sense of ensemble connectedness and purpose. Both fire and control" - Greg Stott from Australia (musician, teacher at the Australian National University, judge of the 7 Virtual Jazz Club). For few points the austrian group David Helbock's Random Control (with the song Para Hermeto) didn't end up in the first position. At the third place we have the young saxophone player Alex Hahn (right now enrolled at the Theloniouos Monk Institute of Jazz under the direction of W. Shorter and H. Hancock) and at the fourth place we have John Daversa, a californian trumpet player, teacher and producer, which presented the song Wobbly Dance Flower, with Bob Mintzer as a special guest. The web community prize (€ 1, 000 plus artistic advertising) has been assigned to the italian group Reveries which presented the song Wake, rush, live, look back.
