| Flutist Receives NAMMY Nomination! Local Cedar Rapids musician, Jonny Lipford, has been nominated for a NAMMY (Native American Music Award) for his latest work, Waves Of Serenity, which was released earlier this year in February. The NAMMYS are the music industry's largest and only membership based organization for the advancement of Native American music initiatives & expressions around the world. Based in New York, the Native American Music Awards & Association, Inc. receives hundreds of entries each year and selects only 5-6 nominees in each category. The Awards Show is held on October 14, 2017 at the Seneca Hotel & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY, where the winners will be announced. Public voting is underway and encouraged until the day of the show.
