Elk Run Vineyards to Host Concert by Acclaimed Native American Flute Player, Randy “Windtalker” Motz, on June 4, 2017

Hailed as one of Maryland's premier wineries, Elk Run Vineyards welcomes back one of their most unique musical artists, Randy "Windtalker" Motz, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

Sit back and sip elegant wines as "Windtalker" performs his distinctive style of contemporary Native American-style flute music which he describes as "Native SoundScapes." The blending of flute with lush orchestration and Native percussion, weaves a musical tapestry that creates a warm and soothing ambiance guaranteed to make for a memorable Sunday afternoon of savoring fine wine. Windtalker's" beautiful and creative compositions take the audience on a soothing, sometimes playful, and always entertaining musical journey.

In addition to performing traditional Native American flute compositions from his popular CDs, "Native SoundScapes" and "Canyon Whispers, " "Windtalker" will also be performing jazz and blues, as well as classic rock songs that are sure to get your feet tapping. Come enjoy creative interpretations of songs from Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, Santana, Van Morrison, The Moody Blues, Prince, Kansas and Led Zeppelin. "Windtalker will also be performing songs from his latest CD, "Hózhó – Walking in Beauty, " which was nominated for "Best Native American Album of 2016" by One World Music Radio.

Audiences throughout Maryland and Virginia acclaim "Windtalker's" show as mesmerizing, breathtaking, moving, hauntingly beautiful, profound, soothing, entertaining, educational, heartfelt, captivating, enchanting, vibrant, relaxing, exotic, and a performance that must be seen and heard.

For years, "Windtalker" has been delighting audiences with his special brand of music at festivals, state and national parks, coffee houses, wineries, senior living facilities, schools, churches, private parties and other intimate venues. He has also been the guest performer for a moonlight tour held by the National Park Service at New Mexico's Pueblo Bonito ruins at Chaco Canyon National Historical Park and a National Park Service boat trip through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Most recently, he was invited to perform for the opening ceremonies at a solidarity rally in Annapolis, Maryland in support of the Standing Rock Sioux who are protesting the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline through their reservation in North Dakota. Songs from his CDs can be heard on I-Tunes, Pandora, Rhapsody and many other online music streaming websites. He now brings his amazing show back to Elk Run Vineyards and Winery.

As an advocate for Native Americans, "Windtalker" will donate a portion of the proceeds from this performance and merchandise sales to the Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA), the oldest Indian advocacy organization in the United States. AAIA's programs fall into three main categories: youth/education, cultural preservation, and sovereignty.
