| David Bromberg Quintet performs at Bull Run Feb. 4 David Bromberg's latest album is titled "The Blues, the Whole Blues, and Nothing But the Blues." But the veteran revered guitarist (plus mandolin, fiddle, and pedal-steel) and singer has also led and aided efforts in folk, country, rock 'n' roll, bluegrass, jazz, and combinations of the lot. Along the way he collaborated with a Hall of Fame list of names, then he stopped playing for 22 years. But getting back to the blues, Bromberg and his crack band pack a tight and electrifying sound into the many gems on the new album, and there are also acoustic delights such as Bromberg's solo interpretation of Ray Charles' "A Fool For You." There's nothing quite like it.
