Cristina Morrison Nominated For 2 Independent Music Awards -

Cristina Morrison has been making waves since her release last year of "Baronesa" on Jazzheads. This year she's a double nominee for the Independent Music Awards in the categories of Jazz With Vocals and for her song "The Sky Is In Your Eyes."

"I'm honored, inspired and thankful. I truly didn't expect this nomination so it has a been very moving to me and it came as the best birthday surprise gift ever. When you work hard with passion and dedication so as to put it out to the world and to later get nominated is truly a gift. It's very exciting for your music to be heard by a jury committee made up of amazing and respected artists like Tom Waits, Dido, Suzanne Vega, Robert Glasper, Alejandro Sanz and many others. For BARONESA to have been chosen between thousands of submissions is wonderful and to be running in the same category as Macy Gray is just so cool to me. I used to listen to her everyday back in the 90's when I lived in Galapagos" - Cristina Morrison
