| Renato Borghetti Quartet (Br) - Gaita Na Fábrica: New CD And Upcoming Europe Release Tour Oct/Nov  Flamboyant accordionist Renato Borghetti and his quartet present their new project GAITA NA FÁBRICA ("Accordion in the Factory"), produced entirely at the FÁBRICA DE GAITEIROS, the cultural space where Borghetti is developing his new social project. The "Factory of Accordionists" is located in the town of Barra do Ribeiro near Porto Alegre in Southern Brazil, next to the ranch of the charismatic accordion star.Under the direction of Renato's architect daughter Emily Borghetti, the old factory on the bank of the Guaíba river was transformed into a beautiful, multifunctional space containing an accordion factory, an accordion school, and a small concert venue. It is a magical, inspiring place, where children and young adults can develop their love for music and at the same time learn how to play and build the "gaita ponto" or "8 bass accordion", the instrument that represents the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The quartet's new album is the result of this very special atmosphere. Most of the 12 tracks are composed by Renato and his friends and fellow musicians, who have been playing and travelling with him for more than 20 years. The compositions are a mature and contemporary twist on the typical rhythms from the south of Brazil. Milongas, Vaneiras, Xote and Chamamés, executed in an unconventional and almost classical formation, consisting of piano (Vitor Peixoto), flute/sax (Pedro Figueiredo) and acoustic guitar (Daniel Sá, also in charge of the musical direction of the production). "Borghettinho" has been recording CDs and touring since the beginning of the eighties, and live audiences in Latin America as well as many European countries have been fascinated by his charism and incredible stage presence. He has shared the stage with big names such as Stephane Grapelli, Ron Carter and Hermeto Pascoal and is the first Brazilian musician to achieve a golden record with purely instrumental music.
