| Trio Arjun To Celebrate The Release Of Their New Album 'Gravity' Groove Jam Rock Trio ARJUN, will celebrate the release of their new album Gravity at New York's acclaimed music venue, Rockwood Music Hall on Thursday, Auguest 11th, 2016 at 9:30 p.m. ARJUN will debut new songs form Gravity (Pheromone Records), the follow-up to their critically acclaimed and chart topping Core. ARJUN teamed up once again with legendary producer/mixer Scotty Hard (Bjork, Wu-Tang Clan, Antibalas, Arto Lindsay, Medeski Martin & Wood, Charlie Hunter, and Sex Mob) for recording and mixing duties. Gravity features special guests Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) and Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy). Jamsphere magazine described Gravity as "exciting" while Band Camp Diaries stated that Gravity is tastefully produced, expertly arranged and remarkably performed." Feast of Music's Kira Brekke described the events at a recent ARJUN show: "they walked onstage with a reserved, unassuming air to them. Then, for the next 45 minutes, ARJUN took us on an emotionally electric journey that left listeners with bulging eyes." Rockwood Music Hall is located at 196 Allen Street in New York City, between First Avenue and Stanton Street. Admission is free for this performance. ARJUN has been trailblazing their own hybrid of rock and improvisational jazz since 2003. Made up of Eddie Arjun Peters (guitar), Lamar Myers (drums), and Andre Lyes (bass), ARJUN fuses the raw, electric power of rock and blues with the finesse of improvisational jazz, resulting in a delicate balance of intricately crafted melodies backed by powerhouse musicianship. Gravity is their fourth album and the final installment in a trilogy that began with Space ( 2013), followed by Core (2014). Core featured John Medeski (MMW) and reached #4 on the Jamband / RelixRadio charts. Joined by Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy) and Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band, Bela Fleck), Gravity is a reinvention of ARJUN's sound and style, rooted in carefully crafted melodies which tell resonant stories without words. write your comments about the article :: © 2016 Jazz News :: home page |
