| Joshua Redman Quartet at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, MA  Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center Executive Director Beryl Jolly announced three additions to the 2016 schedule today, including John Hiatt (May 6), Joshua Redman Quartet (June 26), and Buckwheat Zydeco (August 20). "We are excited to add amazing rock, jazz, and zydeco talents to further round out this year's line- up. Please visit Mahaiwe.org often as more additions will be coming soon, " said Jolly.One of the most esteemed and charismatic jazz artists of his generation, Grammy Award nominated saxophonist Joshua Redman will make his second appearance at the Mahaiwe on Sunday, June 26 at 7:00pm. The Joshua Redman Quartet featuring Aaron Goldberg (piano), Reuben Rogers (bass), and Gregory Hutchinson (drums) performs new original music and jazz classics that Redman wrote and chose specifically for this group of musicians. This band's music can be challenging, provocative, and forward-looking, but also hard swinging, melodic, and soulful, with a strong link to the jazz idioms of the 1950s and 1960s. The musicians demand serious energy and engagement of themselves and their listeners, and create music with a joyous and celebratory spirit. Tickets are $30 to $80. A limited number of $15 tickets to each live performance are available for audience members ages 30 and younger through the Mahaiwe ArtSmart Tix program, sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union.
