| VARS&KAPER DeconstructiON We are happy to inform you about a new Album Vars&Kaper DeconstructiON, which has its media premier this year at the International Fair Jazzahead 21-24 of April in Bremen Germany. The world premiere of this Album will take place at The ICE Arena Congress Center in Cracow during Film Music Fastival. We Cordially invite everybody who is into beutiful sounds. Perhaps there's no more jazz, and all that's left is improvised music, which draws its inspiration from the influences of our times, and history? Maybe that's where the Holy Grail of creation should be sought? Somewhere between that which created us, and that which we create? VARS&KAPER – DeconstructiON is not simply a melding of the roots of Polish jazz, deeply founded in the film music of two composers: Henryk Wars and Bronisław Kaper, often interpreted by giants such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane, with the music of here and now. These are not just ear-pleasing, pretty Slavic melodies, embellished with a stroke of modernity. This is also a search for common ground, between a DJ and the ambiance of acoustic instruments. A place where the contemporary groove and sensibilities of a piano trio don't fight for a better tomorrow, but create a nexus between that which is past, and that which is modern. Like Yin and Yang. The great balance of Power. Personnel: Paweł Kaczmarczyk - piano Kuba Dworak - double bass Dawid Fortuna - drums (*) Mr. Krime (Wojciech Długosz) - DJ (**) Hubert Kaszycki - VJ Bronislaw Kaper and Henryk Wars were one of the first Poles who have set their feet in Hollywood and contributed to the success of American cinema in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Their compositions sounded in more than two hundred American productions, from the 30s to 60s. Though they contributed indisputably to the development of the American film, the names are obscure in Poland. Also, fans of Miles Davis and John Coltrane may be surprised to learn that the famous jazz standards On Green Dolphin Street and Invitation were written by Bronisław Kaper. Polish fans of the interwar songs: Love Forgives All, Cold Rascal, I'm Meeting Her At Nine, hardly mention the name of the author of the pre-war hits: Henryk Wars. Kasper has forever etched in the history of Polish cinema. As the first Pole, in 1953 he won the Academy Award for best music in the film Lili. The talented Polish jazz pianist and improviser - Paweł Kaczmarczyk, along with his formation Audiofeeling Trio, set his sights on the forgotten repertoire of the masters of Hollywood soundtracks and will subject them to experimental creative deconstruction. This new, original touch is based on the meeting of two styles and clashing the methods of live composition with the classic language of the golden age of Hollywood. It is a real treat for jazz enthusiasts. The works played during the concert will be recorded in a studio for Paweł Kaczmarczyk's new album, scheduled for release in May 2016. Audiofeeling is Paweł Kaczmarczyk's author's ensemble. The musicians present the compositions from the award-winning album Complexity in Simplicity, released by the prestigious ACT Music label. It was this album that opened the door to the pianist's international career. The album won the Album of the Year in the Jazz Top 2009 poll by the Jazz Forum magazine. A sensation was also naming Paweł Kaczmarczyk the Best Pianist of the Year. This nomination broke the several year reign of Leszek Możdżer in this category, and this ranking. 1."PO MLECZNEJ DRODZE" (Henry Vars) - "Wielka Droga" 1946 2."INVITATION" (Bronislau Kaper) - "Invitation", 1952 3."ACH ŚPIJ KOCHANIE" (Henry Vars) - "Paweł i Gaweł", 1938 4."JUŻ NIE ZAPOMNISZ MNIE" (Henry Vars) - " Zapomniana melodia", 1938 5."WHILE MY LADY SLEEPS" (Bronislau Kaper) - "Chocolate Soldier", (1941) 6."NINON" (Bronislau Kaper) - "Zdobyć Cię Muszę" 1933 7."ALL GOD'S CHILLUN GOT RHYTHM" (Bronislau Kaper) - "A Day at the Races", 1937 8."FOLLOW ME" (Bronislau Kaper) - "Mutiny On Bounty", 1962 9."PANIE JANIE" (Henry Vars) - "Zapomniana melodia, 1938 write your comments about the article :: © 2016 Jazz News :: home page |
