| Monk-in-Motion: Next Face of Jazz Series Concludes With Outstanding Vocalist Vuyo Sotashe Saturday, March 19 at 7:30PM TIX Vocalist Vuyo (Vuyolwethu) Sotashe is the 2nd Runner-Up of the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Scheduled to perform with Vuyo: Russell A. Hall (bass), Gabe Schnider (guitar), Kyle Poole (drums) and Mathis Picard (piano).Young South African jazz vocalist, Vuyo Sotashe, also won first prize at the very first Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival Vocal Competition in 2014. More recently, he won the Audience prize award and placed second over-all at the Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition in 2015. BMCC Tribeca PAC is proud to present the 3 three finalistsof the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. This year's outstanding jazz vocalists included winner Jazzmeia Horn as well as Runner-Up Veronice Swift.
