| Nicole Stella Releases New Album "New Day Unplugged" Nicole Stella is a young songwriter, known for her debut album New Day, a collection of original songs inspired by many different influences, ranging from Joni Mitchell's early folksongs to the jazz echoes in Tori Amos's work. With minimalistic arrangements (where the voice stands out through acoustic guitars, keyboards and bass lines) and unusual harmonies (reminding a creative mix of folk and jazz), New Day was received as an interesting and innovative work, acclaimed by British and American critics and deejays. Jamie Funk, from The Even Ground, says: "New Day is an enjoyable batch of folk pop songs that will appeal to a large demographic. The flow is seamless from beginning to end. She has gained a new fan and I will be looking forward to her future work" while Marie Sorenson, from Women of Music describes New Day as "Beautifully sweet songwriting". After the success of New Day, Nicole is about to release a live version of the album, recorded at the Blessings Bar, in London. New Day Unplugged - Live at Blessings will be available for download from 16th November 2015. On that day only both albums will be given away for free on Nicole's Bandcamp page (www.nicolestella.bandcamp.com). New Day Unplugged - Live at Blessings was recorded and mastered by Musa Henderson (Brinks Records). The album is an independent release. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Jazz News :: home page |
