Adrian Cunningham: Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Flute, Vocals Alberto Pibiri: Piano George Delancey: Bass Chuck Redd: Drums Adrian Cunningham is fast being considered one of the finest multi-instrumentalists in mainstream Jazz. Originally from Sydney Australia and now based in New York, he is proving to be one of his country's top exports on clarinet, sax and also flute. Adrian is busy on the NY scene playing in a variety of world-class groups including the Wycliffe Gordon Quintet, and leading the sax section in the grammy-winning Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks. Adrian was recently invited to record for the Arbors Records label. The result is "Ain't That Right", a collection and tribute to one of the unsung composers in Jazz; Neal Hefti. A long-time Basie and Herman collaborator, Hefti has an extensive repertoire of music which included an impressive colllection of movie and TV soundtracks. This is most likely the first collection of Hefti tunes on one album since Basie or Hefti himself! Adrian is excited to launch the CD at the beautiful Kitano New York with a stellar rhythm section. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Jazz News :: home page |
