| L'Objet - "Toucan" 2015, Arnaud Boulogne and Julien Harpagès follow up "Plank" released in 2011. The founding duo of L'Objet kept for this new disc, "Toucan", the same process of experimentation and ideas assembly during recording, while exploring further new ways. More space is given to keyboards of all kinds (from the MS 10 to the Yamaha PSS, along with the Siel or the Crumar) and to rhythmic additions. Traces of African influences can also be heard even if the tracks often keep a mechanical rhythmic base more specific to Kraut-rock. CONCERTS L'Objet played between 2003 & 2013 at La Maroquinerie (Paris), L'Aéronef (Lille), Le Grand Mix (Tourcoing), De Kreun (Kortijk-Belgium), La Malterie (Lille), Le Molodoï (Strasbourg), Les 4 Ecluses (Dunkerque), La Condition Publique (Roubaix), L'International (Paris) ... sharing the stage with Peter Kernel, Papa M, Troy Von Balthazar, Cyann & Ben, Holden, Melody's Echo Chamber, Sharko, Holden, Cercueil, SJ Esau, Shipping news, DAAU, Isaac Delusion, Russian Circles ... and also participated in cinema concerts organized by Le Fresnoy (Tourcoing) and recently by La Ferme d'en Haut (Villeneuve d Ascq). The picture on the "Toucan" album cover is issued from Phase IV by Saul Bass, which was the last movie chosen by l'Objet for a ciné-concert. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Jazz News :: home page |
