| Yolanda Rabun Announces Launch of New Studio Album Kickstarter Campaign North Carolina Singer/Songwriter Yolanda Rabun is working on her next full-length studio album since the release, two years ago, of her jazzy yuletide project, Christmastime. Thanksgiving day will mark the 30-day countdown for Rabun's first ever crowd-funding campaign to bring her third album to life. The fan requested project will be a mix of classic and contemporary Jazz and traditional soul music with Kickstarter contributions to cover the recording, production, and marketing costs plus other aspects of releasing an album. Yolanda Rabun fans, old and new, who want to support the new Yolanda Rabun project will find a variety of Kickstarter backer benefits ranging from a pre-show meet and greet with Yolanda, a training session via Skype chat to a lunch date with Yolanda or a personal house concert featuring Yolanda. Other benefits include an autographed copy of Yolanda's new CD and mentions in the CD liner notes. "I'm really looking forward to this album" says Yolanda. Interested persons can join supporters who have already taken the pledge to receive a digital download and CD of the new album early by going to the Kickstarter Campaign site at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/678887329/yolanda-ra... The deadline for funding the campaign is 6:30pm, EST on December 27, 2014. If funding is successful, production will begin immediately to be ready for a Summer 2015 release. "It means a lot that this album will be fan-supported since fans world-wide have been the catalyst for my radio airplay and sold-out shows", says Yolanda. "I'm grateful. Everyone is invited to dream big with me and pledge. It matters. It's an all or nothing leap of faith." Notably, Yolanda recently announced to her Kickstarter backers her return to the legendary Blues Alley Jazz in Washington, DC on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, for intimate 8:00pm and 10:00pm shows which will include music from Yolanda's forthcoming album. Tickets are on sale now for $25.00 and can be purchased online at http://www.bluesalley.com or by calling Blues Alley (202) 337-4141. Yolanda's 2013 maiden voyage to Blues Alley Jazz was met by a sold-out out, enthusiastic house. She is expecting even greater things in 2015. About Yolanda Rabun An extraordinary gifted singer and songwriter, Yolanda's rich, robust, soulful voice draws repeated comparisons to Gladys Knight and Nancy Wilson, but Yolanda is creating a path of her own. She released, independently, her debut So Real "Enhanced CD" with a 7-week UK Soul Top 30 chart run, played several main stages at jazz festivals, traveled to Asia/Mediterranean, and opened for the Isley Brothers as well as R&B sensation, KEM at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Yolanda has performed at New York's Lincoln Center and headlined the acclaimed Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles. Yolanda also has been called a modern-day Renaissance woman by many since she is also a wife, mother, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, professional actor and "practicing" corporate attorney. She holds an Honors B.A. degree from Holy Cross College, a Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School, and has won, among other professional honors, the Triangle Business Journal's Top 40 under 40 Leadership Award. write your comments about the article :: © 2014 Jazz News :: home page |
