| Duffy Kane Touring in Support Of New Release Dead Man Walkin' Hailing from West Virginia, Duffy Kane is an All-American country blues-rock artist who can play the heck out of a guitar! No newcomer to the stage, Duffy has been known to keep up a grueling 250 nights-a-year touring schedule while playing festivals and sharing stages with blues greats such as Johnny Winter, Big Jack Johnson, Tino Gonzales, Debbie Davies and The Nighthawks. Touring in support of his first release on Freedom Train Records (street date October 7) Dead Man Walkin'; Duffy, together with his band, he will be appearing at: November 29 - The Old Brogue; Great Falls VA December 13 - Clyde's of Chevy Chase; Chevy Chase MD. For more information on any of these events or to obtain information on events not yet scheduled, check Duffy's tour dates on his website. At radio, 25+ AAA and Americana stations (including AMA reporting stations) are spinning the single "Roadhouse Boogie Woogie" including WHAY Kentucky, WGCS Indiana, WAER Syracuse, WHFC Baltimore, WOUB Ohio and others. Dead Man Walkin' features eleven songs that all prove Duffy is a man who just wants to play guitar. His music is as diverse as he is American. His fever for the guitar is evident in his sheer electricity on stage. Hard to believe that he was classically trained on the violin, then transferred that knowledge to teach himself to play the guitar the way he does. He can REALLY play guitar! Think Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Chet Atkins, Brad Paisley, Jimi Hendrix. His lyrics consist of songs about life challenges and conscience for an America that is under siege from the inside as well as diabolical outside forces. "I don't consider myself an artist, I'm a craftsman. I want people to see me as a man who has spent a lot of time looking into matters of the world and speaks the truth about what he sees" Duffy says. Duffy Kane's musicianship is based deep within the roots of Blues while showcasing his original signature sound. From SRV style Texas Blues to jazz infused 21st Century Honky Tonk, Duffy Kane & the Freedom Train will drive you through colorful American musical landscapes. His discography includes independently released albums - Citizen Kane (2012), Holy Ghost (2010), Promised Land (2009), Let Your Insides Do the Talking (1996) and Live (1994). His first blues trio CD, Let Your Insides Do the Talking, was released through PMC Records. The album was recorded in Nashville at 16th Avenue Sound and was produced by Grammy-nominated Brian Hardin (Jerry Lee Lewis and Charlie Daniels). write your comments about the article :: © 2014 Jazz News :: home page |
