| Josh Abbott Band's Major Label Debut 'Tuesday Night' On September 23rd, Josh Abbott Band will make their major label debut on Atlantic Records with a new EP 'Tuesday Night'. 'Tuesday Night' features five original Josh Abbott Band songs that capture snapshots of life's simpler pleasures over the interplay of dynamic fiddle and twangy guitars. 'Blush' showcases Abbott's signature songwriting style with tender lyrics that evoke a slow-burning Southern romance. 'She Don't Break' then flips the traditional love song on its head, telling the powerful story of a girl discovering her own resilience and independence after being burned by love one too many times. The EP's title track 'Tuesday Night' is a spirited anthem that reminds us to enjoy the everyday moments that we often take for granted - "Every once in a while you need something to make you feel alright / Sometimes it's just beer and tacos on a Tuesday night, " muses Abbott alongside bandmate Austin Davis' playful banjo riffs. Josh Abbott, a native Texan, formed the Josh Abbott Band in 2006. Since then, his love for Texas has permeated every aspect of his songwriting, weaving authentic character-driven tales while exploring real-life issues that have shaped the Lone Star State. Joined by Preston Wait (fiddle, guitar), James Hertless (bass), Caleb Keeter (guitar), Austin Davis (banjo) and Edward Villanueva (drums), the band has quickly risen to the top of the Texas music scene. Josh Abbott Band's first three albums were released independently on the band's own label and sold more than 175, 000 copies total and 1.4 million singles. Their most recent album 'Small Town Family Dream' reached #5 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. The band also had success at country radio entering the charts with singles "Touch" and "Oh, Tonight (with Kacey Musgraves)". The EP's first single 'Hangin' Around' premiered earlier this month on SIRIUS XM as a Highway Find and is now available via digital download and streaming services. write your comments about the article :: © 2014 Jazz News :: home page |
